Tuesday, May 31st 2005

I got up at 815, made breakfast, listened to the news, and left for work. I arrived at HCID at 930am. Brett is in Argentina for the week, I was in the office alone until Maegan arrived at Noon.

When I got in I started doing my laundry and replied to a few emails. I have been in contact with a woman in Paris who manufactures painted porcelaine bathware. Brett has a toilet, sink, and a bunch of other items which he is trying to sell; his bathroom is being remodeled.

I addressed some envelopes and then dropped off 3 cases of wine for a charity event being held in an art gallery on 25th between 10th and 11th. The cabride over took a long time. I think the driver was OCD or maybe just crazy; he kept making unusual and repetitive hand gestures throughout the trip.

I walked to the 6 train at 28th after dropping off the alcohol. When I got back to the office I wrote and then printed up thank you notes for the people who donated to the silent auction. At 330 I changed into shorts and a t-shirt and walked over to NYSC. After 10 months of scamming weekly passes, sneaking into Columbia, or lifting at 502 I finally joined a gym--more money flying out my pocket. I did a back workout and then got my laundry from HCID and took the 6 train home.

The trains were a mess, slow in coming and very crowded. I did not get home until 615. When I did I ate, shaved and showered. I made dinner around 8. I read and watched half an episode of Oz before going to sleep.

This blog is getting really boring, I'm gonna have to figure out a way to 'spice it up'.

Monday, May 30th 2005

I woke up at 720am and dressed for work. I ate breakfast and ran to catch the 6 train. I arrived at 502 Park at 755am.

The movers could not start until 9am, that is when the service entry opens up (at the Trump Park Avenue they don't allow plebeians to use the main entrance). I packed up the staff clothes in the guest room as well as a few assorted boxes of left-over goods. At 9 the movers began packing furiously.

CK arrived at 920 and told me to pack a few other things in his room. There was a fair amount of sitting around in the next few hours. BK came back after an outing with Larry, we took a walk around the block and talked with Carlos, one of the doormen in the building.

I did some light cleaning and then ate lunch (some sandwiches Molly had picked up) with CK and Molly in the kitchen. I packed up the rest of CK's files and left 502 Park at 130pm. I walked home, stopping in at the supermarket on the way back to get some foods for the coming week. I had to urinate so bad on the way back I almost did so in my pants.

I regret having volunteered for work today. I would have much preferred a day in the sun with other company. Money is an evil seductress.

I reconfigured my internet access and made some food. At 330 I went to Queens where I hung out for the remainder of the night. I got home at 1045 showered and went to sleep.

Sunday, May 29th 2005

I got up at 10am and made breakfast. I hung out around 1799 in the morning, read the news and watched an episode of Deadwood.

At 1pm I left for Equinox on 85th where I did 5000m on the erg and some light lifting. When I got back to 110th I walked to Juarez barbershop and got a trim. The barber was a precision hair cutting machine.

I showered and ate a good meal. At 545 I walked over to Rustam's apartment on 109th and hung out with Liz and Jill. I had brought my computer over in the hope that we could network and exchange media; we were unsuccesful in that regard.

We hung out on the roof and watched some tv--nothing special. I left at 945 and walked home. While walking across the northern end of Central Park a crackhead approached me and started following me. I spoke a few words to her at first but then she kept asking questions and continously flashing a lascivious smile. I quickened my pace, she would not relent. I don't know what she wanted from me, she didn't ask for money. It was almost as if she was lonely and wanted company. Although I didn't feel physically threatened--my psyche underwent some trauma.

I finally lost the woman at 5th Avenue where a series of steps slowed her cart full of empty plastic bags. As I walked along briskly I heard my name being shouted, "Doug, Doug, Doug".

When I got in I read for a little while and then went to sleep. I have to be at work early tomorrow.

Saturday, May 28th 2005

I was up at 8am. It was a very relaxing morning--I watched an episode of Deadwood, ate a liesurely breakfast, read the news. At 1030 I took a shower and dressed. I left for 502 Park at Noon.

I spoke with CK after arriving. I did a lot of work today. I set up 9 file boxes and then walked over to Manhattan MiniStorage on 63rd and 1st and purchased several large boxes, including a wardrobe box. Getting these items home was very frustrating; things kept falling off the dolly, people kept bumping into the boxes and knocking things off. By the time I reached 3rd Avenue I was ready to quit my job, set up the box, and sleep on the street.

My main task for the day was packing up the kitchen. I had to go to Staples twice to purchase more packing boxes for all the food, dishes, baking pans, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. It took me about four and a half hours of nonstop packing to get it done. I took Nick and Jack on a walk and then packed up some items from the guest room.

Shirley, BK, and myself went to Bice for dinner. It was raining on the way over. The decor was nice and the servcice was good, the food was only okay. I had the spinach salad and grilled salmon. We were done with dinner around 8pm.

When we got back I cleaned up the apartment and little bit, finished packing a few items, and then took the dogs on a short walk. I left at 930 and walked over to Adam's place.

Dave and the bassist from his band, Jarred, were at Adam's apartment. We hung out for a little while and then took a cab to 1st and St. Mark's. We went to a bar called Buo and met up with some girls, some twins (not, "the twins") and Angelie. Around 1am Adam, myself and the girls went to The Thirsy Scholar. I left at 230.

Friday, May 27th 2005

I roused at 745 after a decent night's rest. I washed my face and combed my hair, I then call Verizon and spent about 45 minutes making the arrangements for the telephone's in CK's townhouse. I had no trouble getting through as they had just opened. I ate breakfast, oatmeal with toasted walnuts, scrambled eggs, and tea while I talked on the phone.

I left for HCID at 910am. When I got to work I discussed some things with Brett. It doesn't seem like I did too much today. I answered various coorespondence, told Brett how to get his voicemail from abroad, discussed with Brett a few last auction items. I left at 1210pm.

I met Reess K. at his office on 57th and Madison. We walked over to a sandwich place for lunch, took our food to go and ate it on the grass in the southern end of Central Park. We discussed our mutual stinginess.

I walked back to his office and then headed off to 502 Park. When I got in I drafted up a memo for CK regarding the changes in telephone service. At 150 BK and I took a walk in Central Park with Nick and Jack. It was a beautiful day and lots of people were out. I spoke with my mom, BK did too. We listened to a few musical performers and took a seat near the boathouse. BK played with another couple's dog in the fountain--I felt very relaxed.

We got back around 315. I set up Cable and Cable Internet (road runner) with Time Warner for the new townhouse. I also contacted Verizon DSL about shutting off our service at 502. I drafted up a memo for CK. I went to Duane Reade for some light bulbs around 4pm. I changed the light bulb in BK's closet and then hung out on the computer.

I took the dogs out again at 445, when I came back at 530 I did some errands for CK, including: altered a few documents, buying a book at Border's, purchasing some Tinactin (tough actin') at Duane Reade, and upgrading train reservations. CK, Larry, and BK ate dinner around 7pm. I served them in the living room. Molly, Shirley, and myself ate in the kitchen. We had corn chowder, spaghetti squash with sauteed shrimp in a tomato and spinach broth with crumbled feta cheese, and for dessert a small slice of chocolate cake.

Idid a good cleaning afterwards including a mopping of CK's room. I was finished by 840pm, at which time I took the dogs on a fast paced 35 minute walk. When I returned I walked over to Adam's house. I hung out there for about an hour and then went home. I got a great connection on the six train which was good because I was so tired I could barely make it up the four flights of stairs in my apartment building. I took a shower and then went to sleep.

Thursday, May 26th 2005

I woke up at the same time as yesterday, and performed, with no alteration, the same exact routine. I arrived at HCID at 925am.

Today was somewhat slow and boring. I took care of some coorespondence, sent out a package via UPS, wrote some thank you notes. I had to print some envelopes for these notes; I struggled with the printer--sometimes I think printers were put on earth soley to punish mankind. I left at 1245 and went to 502 Park.

I made a sandwich which I put in my pocket. I gathered Nick and Jack and then walked over to Adam's house. We left the dogs at his place and met up with Cookie at an Indian Restaurant on 2nd Avenue. They had the buffet.

After lunch Adam and I went back to his house and watched some corny daytime television. I left at 355 and returned to 502. I talked to CK, he'll be back tomorrow. I printed up BK's weekly schedule, and printed the summer schedule. I talked to the architect about the telephones in the townhouse.

Joshua came over for dinner. Molly, him and myself hung out in the kitchen before it was served. Shirley, BK, and the 3 of us ate at 645; we had chicken curry, a large salad, mixed grilled vegetables, basmati rice and a fruit salad for dessert.

We took our time eating, I cleaned up, finishing by 835. I took the dogs out on a 55 minute walk, I grabbed a shirt and got the 6 train home. When I got home I shaved and showered. I went to sleep around 11pm.

Wednesday, May 25th 2005

I woke up at 745 after an amazing night's rest. I made an egg and cheese omelette with tea and toast for breakfast. I lounged around, listened to the news, and then folded my laundry. I left for HCID, arriving at 930am.

I followed up with a few people regarding the silent auction. I bought the software to upgrade from Lasso version 6 to Lasso 8. I wrote some coorespodence, moved a toilet and sink with Brett (he's getting his bathroom remodeled), installed a wireless card on the laptop, and then left. The morning passed quickly as I had many varied tasks to keep me occupied.

After a quick break on the roof, I purchased a new pair of headphones from radioshack. The right headphone on my prior pair had ceased to function. I purchased the replacement insurance, something I rarely do, for $3. I go through a pair of headphones every 4 months or so, I figured it would be a good investment.

I got on the 4 train, unfortunately I took it uptown instead of downtown. I had to switch at 125th street. I arrived at 502 by 150pm. I made some food when I arrived and then took Nick and Jack on a 55 minute walk. When I returned I hung out with Molly for a little while and reviewed this summer's house sitting schedule.

I had a chest workout from 430 to 525. When I got back I took Nick and Jack on another walk. Dinner was at 630 with Simon, Shirley, Molly, BK, and myself in the kitchen. We had a large salad, garlic bread, cheese ravioli with a chicken ragu, and garlic pesto gnocci.

After dinner I cleaned up, I was finished around 8pm. I added some data to CK's weight lifting progress charts, and imported BK's piano performance from a camcorder to the computer. I took the dogs on a long walk at 830. When I returned I packed up my things and left.

I got home at 955pm. I showered and then changed the sheets on my bed. I went to sleep around 1130.

Tuesday, May 24th 2005

At 745 I woke up and made breakfast. I took my time, read and listened to the news, and then left for work. I brought my laundry in; people give me the hairy eyeball for some reason, as if they had never seen a box of laundry before. I arrived at 83rd by 9am.

Not much to report today. I Tracked down more silent auction winners and contributors. Doing so is time consuming. I dropped off a package at UPS, but otherwise was in the office all day. I worked on the HCID backend and discussed some ideas for the site with Michael. I left work at 415.

When I got home I browsed the internet for a few minutes and then left for Dave's apartment in Queens. I arrived at 530. We hung out, ate some hot pockets and chinese food. I left a few minutes after eight.

When I got home I showered and relaxed. I went to bed early again.

Monday, May 23rd 2005

I got up at 750 and made breakfast. I listened to the news and then left for HCID. I arrived before 930.

The fallout from the silent auction took up most of my time today. The people who ran it the day of the event did not take care when recording the winners. The day itself was somewhat disorganized. All I had to go off of was some names and telephone numbers of the winning bids. I made a bunch of calls and tracked down some of the items. I also wrote many emails. We raised over $15,000.

A journalist called in and accused Brett of organizing the event for his profit. The Charities involved did benefit--mainly by increasing their awareness, some ticket sales, and participation in the silent auction. Charity Network also benefitted and was able to cover the costs of the event itself.

I stepped out for a few minutes to pick up some food from the deli around the corner. I got a turkey burger, it tasted bad but I ate it anyways. At 4 Brett and I had a meeting with a kid who will be working 10 - 15 hours of work a week for us, mostly on web design.

I left work at 5pm. I took the 6 to 59th walked to 66th and CPW and then used the gym at 502 Park. I had a good back workout and then went home. I got in at 730, showered and made dinner. I watched an episode of Deadwood and went to bed at 11pm. Click here for a random Vine Diesel fact.

Sunday, May 22nd 2005

The 'ding' of my telephone woke me up at 1015am. I made breakfast, incorporating some pizza dough Molly had given me months earlier. I showered and then met my mom down on Lexington at 1130am. She came into the city after a high school reunion in Tenafly, NJ.

We found parking on 115th. She came up and toured my apartment. At 1230 we took the 6 train to 59th. I showed her 502 Park, we went to see the Penthouse (listed at $25+million). There is currently an open house, the place was decorated by a magazine. It had amazing fews of the city from the terraces.

After walking around we descended and then walked crosstown. We got sandwiches for lunch, it was 240 when we rewached the theater on W44th. I picked up our tickets to 'The Producer's' at Will Call. We sat in the balcony--the play was well done and humorous. It has been years since I have been to a musical.

After the performance we took the 7 to Grand Central and caught the 6 home. Viv left at 645, she got a flat on the way home. I made some dinner and watched a Deadwood. I went to sleep around elevan.

Saturday, May 21st 2005

I woke up at 930 and made a huge breakfast. I sat and read the news online while I ate. I collected myself and then did a thorough cleaning of my apartment, bathroom and floors included; it took me a little over an hour. Vivian is coming tomorrow, she appreciates cleanliness more than most.

I left for work at 1220. When I arrived at 502 Park I brought some laundry downstairs. I then took two boxes of Blake's stuff to the townhouse on E70th using a dolly. When I got back I cleaned out the refrigerator in 9D. Once complete I took Nick and Jack on an hour long dog walk.

I was back by 3pm. I relaxed on the computer and hung out with BK and Marla. At 345 I delivered some things to Fedex and then picked up BK's GlycoLax at Duane Reade. After returning I practiced piano with BK. BK and I then went downstairs with Marla. BK took his tricycle down and wheeled me around while I stood on the back. We returned upstairs after a trip to Duane Reade for CK. We watched a video on the internet from the show 'Top Gear', where Tiff Needle challenged a train to a race from London to Monaco.

At 545 I took two trips to the townhouse, with 2 heavy boxes each time. It was tiring, especially the incline from 65th to 67th. I was finished by 7pm, at which point I did a quick cleaning of the apartment. I relaxed and ate some food; Marla had gone home (her shift was complete), BK, Larry and CK went to an Italian restaurant for dinner.

I took the dogs out for a walk at 845pm. I stopped to get an unbrella at Duane Reade, as it had started raining. Once I completed the purchased the rain tapered off. I was back by 930. I walked crosstown and took the 1/9 to 110th to meet up at Rustam's apartment on 109th.

I hung out with Jill and Rustam until midnight. I walked home, lost of crackheads were out. I used my computer and went to bed at 145am.

Saturday, May 21, 2005

Friday, May 20th 2005

I got out of bed at 720am, washed my face and made oatmeal and eggs for breakfast. I browsed the news for a few minutes and then left for HCID.

It was crazy again today, the last day before the HY POLO match. The phone was ringing off the hook (on all three lines). I got in at 830; Brett and I held down the fort until reinforcements arrived around eleven.

I added a few last minute items to the auction. I printed out a filemaker listing of all the donors, and put that together in the manual for the auction coordinator on the day of the event. I touched base with her later in the day, she seemed absolutely clueless, I hope everything turns out alright.

After printing payment sheets, I wrote a memo to the auction coordinators tyring to explain the silent auction in detail. I met with a woman who brought over a bunch of autction goods. Although friendly, she was somewhat of a distraction--she kept engaging me in conversation as I tried to finsh a number of things.

I was glad to be out there fy 120pm. It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I floated over to 502 park, I made some lunch when I got in. I then took the dogs on a 40 minute walk. I spoke with my father part of the way.

When I got back I used the computer and chatted on IM. I took some laundry downstairs at 315. I hung out, made some car reservations, and took the dogs on a walk at 445 - 540; I met Ivanka Trump in the elevator. I unloaded the dishwasher and set the table on my return.

CK, Larry, and BK were served in the living room, while Marla, Molly and myself ate in the kitchen. We had chips with guacamole and salsa, chicken and shrimp, sauteed onions and peppers, refried beans, and grilled portabello mushrooms. After dinner, I cleaned up the kitchen and mopped CK's room. At 835 I took the dogs on a long walk. I left 502 Park at 940.

When I got home I watched an episode of Deadwood and went to bed.

Thursday, May 19th 2005

A vivid dream where I was playing poker with, among others, Jordan Greenberg and three staff from my 1999 summer at Weston Recreation Camp, jarred me awake at 4am. I was unable to fall back asleep until 545am. I got back up at 720 and made eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. I put my head under the faucet, brushed my teeth and left for HCID.

I arrived at 830am. I printed out the descriptions for 50 auction items, and on the reverse printed a 'receipt' of sorts for the winner. I also assembled a book of items for the auction staff. I placed notes on the top of each page explaining the whereabouts of the goods.

I had to add a few more items. Stewart told me some long story about her school days while I worked. The office was busy again, the whole team was in; the telephone was ringing non-stop.
I took a trip to Staples in an attempt to get some more printing paper. We are running low. They did not have the kind we needed and were of little help. Service in Manhattan can suck, people tend to be less than helpful. I bought a phone card for Krystal at RadioShack. After returning to the office, I touched base with Brett, and then went to a printer on 1st avenue and purchased the necessary supplies.

I left for 502 Park at 120pm. When I arrived I made a sandwich and relaxed in the kitchen with Molly. At 250pm I went to the exercise room and did a chest workout. I was finished 55 minutes later, I showered and ate a large bowl of cereal.

At 410 I took the dogs on a 45 minute walk. We visited the park--there was some type of organized ethnic dancing near the Sheep Meadows. I watched it for a while and then went back to 502.

I relaxed before dinner. Molly, BK, Marla and I ate at 645; cordon bleu with asparagus. The girls had salads because they had colonics earlier in the day. After dinner I did a thorough cleaning. I moved Nick and Jack's stuff to CK's room. I was finished cleaning by 815 pm. I took the dogs out at 835 for a 45 minute walk. I left upon my return.

I was listening to the comedian Bill Hicks on mp3 on the ride back, I kept laughing and attracting odd glances. I showered when I got home and went to bed on the earlier side.

Wednesday, May 18th 2005

As planned, I woke up at 745. I made eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast and then got dressed. I arrived at HCID at 835 am. The morning was peaceful enough. I sorted through some auction stuff, worked through the inbox of my gmail account, and created more sheets with item descriptions.

I met with Krystal when she arrived. We discussed the auction. I made a few phone calls to make sure everything was in order with a few donors who I have not heard from in a while. At 1130 I left the office to pick up some 400 sheets of 80lb 11X17 paper for the brochures. I had to visit 2 printers, but was succesful.

I wrote up an outline for the day of the Polo Match and then left HCID. I arrived at 502 by 135pm. I spent some time on the phone with Verizon. I worked on getting a few telephone numbers transferred from 502 to the townhouse on 70th. The woman who helped me was more difficult than necessary. I dropped off a bunch of Larry's press kits to get stapled at the printer around the corner.

I took Nick and Jack over to Adam's house at 3pm. I hung out there for a while, leaving only so Adam could visit Tal Bagels. I returned to 502 Park by 5pm (CK is in Oklahoma). I hung out with Molly in the kitchen while she cooked.

At 555 I took a short walk. I bumped into Seth on the street, I talked to him while he walked to dinner. Simon, BK, Marla, Molly and myself ate in the kitchen at 7pm; we had turkey with assorted mushrooms, risotto with parmesean cheese and peas, and sauteed mixed vegetables. Cleanup was relatively painless.

I took the dogs on an hour long walk at 825pm. I left 502, had to wait a while for a train, and did not make it home until 10pm. I showered, browsed the internet, and went to bed by 11pm.

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Tuesday, May 17th 2005

I got up at 815 am and made breakfast, read the news, and then dressed for work. I arrived at HCID by 920. Once again, today was spent working on the silent auction and the Polo event itself.

I finished putting together information sheets, adding retail prices and minimum bids. I cooresponded with many last minute contributors. I was constantly interrupted by the phone, especially in the morning when I was the only one available to answer questions about the Event.

I found and ordered a lot of beer for the 'Polo Express'. Throughout the day I met with and assisted Stewart and Krystal. Krystal is an event planner; she has very good organizational skills and a positive attitude.

I left at 605 pm. I took a breather on the rooftop and then worked out at 502 Park in the basement gym. I got home at 8pm at which point I showered. I made some food and watched an episode of Carnivale.

I went to sleep on the early side so I could get up and help with the activities tomorrow.

Monday, May 16, 2005

Monday, May 16th 2005

I woke up around 830, ate and got ready for work. I arrived at HCID one hour later. I devoted the day to the silent auction and its related activities. It was a pretty busy day for us, there were lots of people in the office. Stewart, Brett, Gaiyee, Meagan, MJ, were all in attendance.

I dealt with a lot of coorespondence, most of it taking place by email. I updated the database and created a sheet (for every auction item) which contains the item description and a photograph. These will be used the day of the auction.

One lady called me asking to track down and process a bunch of her friends credit cards-- I am not her secretary and told her that in an email (not using those exact words of course). I met with the owner of a swimsuit company about a donation, to my dismay she was not modeling her wares.

Today went by fairly quickly, busy days tend to. At 505 I walked home from work. I stopped in at the supermarket on 110th and got some food. When I got home, a little bit after 6pm, I sat around. I watched 2 episodes of Carnivale...I'm getting near the end of the second season, the show is readeaming itself somewhat.

I took a shower and went to bed by 1130pm.

Sunday, May 15th 2005

I got up at 1030 and made a large bowl of oatmeal with milk and toasted walnuts. I hung around my apartment wasting time...a luxury I enjoy on Sunday morning. At 1pm I got dressed and took the six train to Chris Reese's apartment.

Jason was in for the weekend, he had a conference to attend on Monday. We sat around 8F for a little while and then left in search of food. We walked through Union Square and then meandered west. We finally settled on a small greek diner as it began to rain--I had a turkey burger. It cleared by the time we were finishing up.

We walked around the village some more after lunch. Chris looked at some bootleg DVD's. We walked a long ways and ultimately decided to head to Central Park. We took a local 4 train at Union Square and got off at 68th. We headed up to the lawn and sat around, practiced some handstands.

It started to rain again as we were leaving. I got on the 6 train home, I stopped in at a deli before I left and got some food. When I got home, around 745 I took a shower, made some food and then watched an episode and a half of Carnivale. I went to bed at 1145.

Saturday, May 14th 2005

I slept until 930. When I got up I browsed the internet and ate breakfast. At 1030 I showered. I left for work at ten past noon.

Before I got to 502 Park I stopped in at Duane Reade to pick up a prescription for BK. The pharmacist never showed up, so I had to put it off until Monday. I took Nick and Jack out on a walk to Kinkos. At 110 I made a sandwich and ate it on the way downstairs. I met Marla and BK at the door. We climbed into the car which I had reserved.

We drove to 88th and Park to pick up a friend of BK's. We then drove over to the Intrepid, a battleship and museum, on West 46th. It was an interesting place. We wandered around and checked out the displays inside. I would have liked to relax and read more of the plackards, but Marla and I had two 7 year olds to watch. There were a number of interesting planes on the top deck including an earlier iteration of the SR-71 Blackbird.

At 3pm we got back in our car and went to Viand. BK and his friend got chocolate milk shakes, Marla and I had some iced tea. We took a walk in the park and and eventually wandered over to the new townhouse on E70th, we had the car meet us there and then drove BK's friend home.

We stopped in at Petco to get some dog food on the way back. When I got in at 510pm I 1) made a spreadsheet and graphs tracking CK's lifting progress, changed a light bulb, updated BK's schedule, and printed out a calender with some notes. It didn't take me long, I took Nick and Jack on a 40 minute walk when I was done.

When I returned Marla, BK, and myself took the 6 to 23rd and went to 'Bolo' a spanish style restaurant on E22nd. I had the Bolo salad and seared tuna with a white bean mash--The restaurant was very good. We got back at 830pm, I did a quick clean of the kitchen and vacuumed. I took Nick and Jack out at 855 for 40 minutes. When I got back I washed my face and left 502. The day went by quickly, it was enjoyable.

I met up with Nisha, Rustam, and Jill at Adam's apartment at 10pm. We hung out. Nicole showed up at 1130. Rustam and Jill left early--we left the apartment at 130 and went to a bar. I went home via the 6 train at 240am. I got home and wasted time until 4 when I went to sleep.

Friday, May 13, 2005

Friday, May 13th 2005

Seven-thirty and I was awake. I made a simple breakfast and left for work. I got to HCID at 840 am. I worked most of the morning on the silent auction, I had to email most of the donors to remind them to send their wares along. I also installed some software on the laptop.

I left at 1210 and met up with Adam at Sutten Gardens. We walked over to a park strattling the FDR and the East River near 51st. Perfect weather today. I left at 1:20 and went to 502 Park. I did the following for CK after I arrived:

made a photo cd
printed an invoice
printed a schedule
dropped a shirt off at the cleaners
walked N & J
picked up 2 decaf coffees and a chocolate chip cookie
went to Staples
packed up glassware and kitchen goods
took a cab to townhouse to drop boxes off, walked back

At 530 I unloaded the dishwasher, practiced piano with BK and then replied to some emails for HCID. I took N & J for a walk and at 645 we ate dinner. It was only Molly, Marla and myself, everyone else was away. We had stir-fried vegetables and chicken kabobs with a peanut dip and mango salsa.

I mopped CK's room after dinner and then cleaned up the kitchen in 9D. I vacuumed. At 855 I went to the basement and had a mediocre chest workout. Molly and Marla came down and did some cardiovascular exercise. I left at 855 and walked Nick and Jack. I was home by 940. I grabbed a snack and took the 6 train home.

When I got in I showered and relaxed before going to bed around midnight.

Thursday, May 12 2005

At 815 I awoke and made eggs and toast for breakfast. NPR started their spring fundraising event so their constantly interrupting asking for money during what was my morning relaxation period.

I arrived at HCID at 920 and wrote some coorespondence for the silent auction, I spent most of the morning working on the auction. I went to Best Buy on 86th and picked up Windows XP for the laptop. The gentleman who helped me was rude--I felt like smacking him in the face.

I installed the OS on the laptop and revised the FAQ for the HYPOLO website. I left HCID at 120pm. When I got to 502 I opened some mail and took the dogs on a walk. Upon my return I had a salad Molly had made. I revised the phone and address roster and then tried on some more clothes from Joshua. The pants, tight Levi jeans, are definately gay (no offense).

I brought the pants to Captain's cleaners to get tailored. At 4pm I took Nick and Jack for a walk in Central Park. I met up with Adam who had been taking a nap on the great lawn, we hung out until 520 or so. I brought the dogs back, unloaded the dishwasher, and sat around in the kitchen watching Molly cook.

Marla, BK, Molly, and myself ate in the kitchen at 645. We had BBQ turkey, baked beans, corn on the cob, and a spinach salad with sauteed onions, cranberries, and pecans. I cleaned up some, CK came back at 8pm, I served him dinner. At 830 I cleaned the rest of the place, including the large windows which BK had drawn on.

I took the dogs on their final walk at 905 pm. When I got back, 40 minutes later, I took the train home. I showered and at 1035 wrote this. Ilia and Bean are in town for a Weezer concert, they might crash at my place, I don't know.

Wednesday, May 11th 2005

I woke up at 815--finally feeling rested I had no trouble getting out of bed. I made eggs and toast for breakfast, listened to the news and left for work.

I got to HCID at 925 and worked on the silent auction. We had a new woman come into work (she has a man's name) today, once again Iapplaude Brett for his selection of 'fine' talent.

We had a meeting to get everyone up to speed. I trained the new hire for a little while. I also tried to get XP Pro running on Brett's laptop. Jay F. helped me download some free software. I wrote a few emails seeking more donations to the silent auction.

I left at 115 and arrived at 502 Park by 130. When I got in I met with the personal shopper. He bought some really nice shirts from Banana Republic, I wasn't crazy about the tight jeans. Its nice having someone to shop for clothes and return them if you don't like them.

I took the dogs on a walk and returned at 2:30. I relaxed and ate some food, chatted with Molly in the kitchen. I met with CK around 3pm to discuss the telephone layout for the new townhouse. He wants me to make sure everything runs smoothly.

I contacted the guys that were handling the installation after speaking to the architect. The person I spoke to was very rude, and hung up the phone on me. He must've been having a bad day. I wrote up a memo and faxed it over.

At 515 I took the dogs on a walk. I talked to my mom on the way to "Bicycle Heaven" to pick up some wrist pads for CK's bike. When I got back to 502 I mopped CK's room. I spilled over a gallon of water and wood cleaning solution on the floor by accident--that sucked.

I set the table and emptied the dishwasher. Dinner was served at 645. Simon, Joshua, Rosalinda and BK ate in the living room. Molly prepared almond encrusted salmon with a leak and lemon sauce along with tomato tart and snap peas.

I went to the drugstore to pick up a prescription for CK. I then served CK and Larry after 8pm. I cleaned up. At 840 I took the dogs on a 45 minute walk. When I returned I went downstairs and had a mediocre back workout. An old guy came in and made me life weights in front of his wife.

I just missed a great connection at the train station. I had to wait 10 minutes for the next 6. On the way back a bum was talking jibberish which sounded poetic. I got home at 11 and showered. I made some food and went to sleep.

Tuesday, May 10th 2005

I woke up at 825 this morning after a good night's rest. I performed my usual morning routines and letf for HCID. I arrived at 925am.

During my morning hours I worked on the Silent Auction. At 1130 Brett, Mariajose, and myself had a meeting about the event. At 1230 I went to the Brooks Brother's store on E44th Street to drop of some postcards for the event. I wasn't paying attention and boarded the Downtown train on the way back. I switched to the Uptown four at Union Sq. James was on the same train as I was heading to 502. I didn't notice until he nudged me as he got off.

In the afternoon I spent some time working on the Company database. I listened to an episode of 'This American Life' which told some good stories about mistaken identitiy. There were a lot of incoming calls concerning the Polo Match. They continually interrupted my listening experience.

I left HCID at 530 and toted my freshly cleaned clothes home with me in a Staples box. When I got home I folded my laundry and made some food. I debated going out, but once again sided with relaxing at home. I took a shower, and surfed the internet a bit. I hung out on my fire escape. After 9 I watched an episode of Carnivale.

Its around 1030 now, I will go to bed fairly soon. Oftentimes I feel the urge to stay up later, but knowing I will regret it the next day I climb into bed and read until I fall asleep.

Monday, May 9th 2005

I woke up at 825 and reluctantly climbed out of bed. I made breakfast, read the news briefly, and then left for work. I arrived at 925.

I worked on the silent auction all day. I wrote a lot of emails, updated the database with auction entries, telephoned several people, and wrote a few proposals. We are trying to secure a champagne sponsor for the event, we already have liquor and beer sponsors.

Brett left at noon to take care of a few things in Greenwich. Maegan was home sick. Mariajose was in the office for most of the afternoon. I sent Maegan some copy for the website and also researched some of the charity's which will benefit from the event.

I left early today, at 3:45. I stopped at a healthfood store on 84th to pick up a few loaves of bread. I took the subway home and visited the Supermarket before heading upstairs. I washed my bedding and a few delicate items in the laundry machine downstairs. I will bring the rest of my dirty clothes to work tomorrow.

I spent some time organzing papers at home. I downloaded a driver so I can utilize my wireless keyboard and switched the display settings on my monitor. I used some Drano on my shower drain which has been running slowly lately. I thought about doing a thorough cleaning of my apartment, but couldn't muster up the energy. I was supposed to meet up with Nisha, Joanne, and Sanjit for their birthday dinner, but failed.

After 8 I watched a few episodes of Carnivale, took a shower and went to bed.
